Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons for SEN students
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN during class activities
  • Help create a positive learning environment for students with SEN
  • Assist with the personal care needs of students with SEN if required

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Relevant training or qualifications in supporting students with SEN

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher level qualifications in special educational needs
  • First aid training

Working Conditions:

Work in a classroom setting within a school environment

May involve some physical activity and assisting with personal care needs

Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
