Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in classroom settings
  • Assist the teacher in implementing individualised education plans for students with SEN
  • Support students with their learning activities and help them to engage with the curriculum
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the teacher
  • Work with small groups or individual students to provide additional support as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN

Education:

Some college or vocational training in education or a related field

Experience:

Experience working in a classroom or educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs and how they may impact learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place in a classroom setting
  • May involve assisting students with personal care or mobility needs
  • Full-Time hours, temporary position with potential for extension

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
