JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans for students
Help students with learning activities and provide guidance and encouragement
Support students with personal care and social development
Assist in managing behaviour and creating a positive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

GCSEs in English and Maths
Relevant experience working with children with SEN
Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Relevant experience working with children with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of SEN support strategies
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Patience and empathy towards students with special needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

Work in a school environment
Potential exposure to challenging behaviours
Full-time hours, temporary position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
