Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom
  • Assist the teacher in implementing individual education plans for students
  • Help students with their learning and social development
  • Support students with personal care if required
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working with children or individuals with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy towards students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work within a school setting
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviour
  • Varied daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Collaboration with teachers and other support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
