Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Roles across EYFS/KS1KS2/KS3/KS4

Location: Kensington & Chelsea (W10) - Close to Kensal Rise Station.

Contract Type: Full time - 5 days per week (Monday - Friday) 8.30am - 3.30pm

Start date: ASAP/ April 2024

Salary: £88 - £110 per day

About the role and school:

Teaching Personnel are supporting an SEN Specialist School in Knesington and Chelsea. They are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children across KS1 and KS2 with Autism.

Within the school staff are committed to creating a love for learning through creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. They have a rich variety of extra-curricular activities, and a strong sense of community with active parental involvement.

SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description:

  • Providing specialist support to a students with Austim Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Supporting the student with speech and language, attention and listening skills, and emotional regulation
  • Use different strategies for supporting children with ASD e.g. visual supports, emotional regulation etc.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to support the learning and development of the student
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials, classroom activities and resources
  • Encourage active participation and engagement in lessons

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Relevant experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an educational setting
  • Relevant EYFS / KS1 / KS2 classroom experience (either mainstream or specialist setting)
  • Be familiar with strategies to support children with ASD e.g. visual supports, emotional regulation etc.
  • Be able to demonstrate patience and empathy when working with children, especially those with special educational needs
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from classroom teachers and senior leaders
  • Must hold a clear Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate
  • Be comfortable with Personal Care
