Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant – West London

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Do you have experience and skills in effectively managing difficult behavior? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in West London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly in handling challenging behavior and ASD (Autism)

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, including those with challenging behavior, ASD and ADHD.
- Implement behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to develop and deliver individualized education plans and behavior intervention strategies.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly in managing difficult behavior.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and the ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent. 
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children with diverse needs.

- Most importantly being able to build and maintain relationships.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
