Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant Role

Starting date: ASAP

Location: Greenwich

Teaching Personnel is looking for experienced, motivated, and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants who are looking to start work in April. The successful candidates will have a passion for helping pupils become lifelong learners within a Primary Education Setting. The candidate will need to show and express excellent knowledge of basic Special Education needs, such as ADHD and ASD.

Experience and knowledge with PECS or Makaton would be an advantage for a successful candidate. Candidates must demonstrate the skillset and techniques to de-escalate distressed behaviours. A Caring background will also be strong candidates for an SEN Teaching Assistant Role.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Strong communication skills with excellent spoken and written English
  • A Genuine passion and desire to work with SEN pupils
  • Recent experience working within a Primary Setting
  • Recent knowledge of working with Early Years, KS1 and KS2
  • Have a Child DBS on the Update Service (or willing to process one)
  • Can collaborate well with others
  • Caring, calm and pro-active nature with a keen interest in SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
