Teaching Personnel is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Frome on a full-time basis. This rewarding role starts in September 2026, although an earlier start may be available for the successful candidate.

We are searching for someone who already understands the demands of specialist education and can confidently begin supporting pupils immediately. You'll play a vital role in helping learners access education while promoting confidence, independence and wellbeing.

Your Day-to-Day Role

Working closely with teaching staff, you will help deliver tailored learning experiences that enable pupils to reach their individual goals.

• Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support.
• Assisting with differentiated classroom activities.
• Supporting pupils with communication and social interaction.
• Promoting positive behaviour using consistent strategies.
• Encouraging independence and emotional resilience.
• Preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil records.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and wider professionals.

• Previous SEN experience within an educational setting.
• Confidence working with pupils who have additional needs.
• A calm, patient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability and excellent organisational ability.
• The confidence to hit the ground running from the outset.
