SEN Teaching Assistant – Frome

A welcoming and highly respected specialist provision in Frome is seeking a compassionate and energetic Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team immediately.
Supporting children and young people aged 4 to 16 with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD), this rewarding position is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.
This full-time opportunity offers working hours of 8.30am to 3.40pm and provides the chance to work within a nurturing setting where every small achievement is celebrated.
Staff are valued for their creativity, patience and ability to build positive relationships with learners who require tailored support.
The school has an excellent reputation for creating a calm, engaging and structured learning environment.
Pupils benefit from personalised education plans, sensory-based learning and a strong focus on communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
You will work closely alongside experienced teachers and therapists to help children access meaningful learning experiences throughout the school day.
The Role
• Provide classroom support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence
• Assist with creative, practical and sensory learning activities
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and families
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for every learner

• Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable
• A caring, resilient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for supporting pupils with SEN
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
