Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, motivated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist educational setting in Yeovil.
Available on both a full-time and part-time basis, this rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children and young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
The provision supports learners with a variety of additional needs, including autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, speech and language needs, sensory differences and social, emotional and developmental barriers.

Your Contribution
Working closely alongside teaching staff and specialist professionals, you will play an important role in supporting pupils throughout their educational journey.
- Delivering individual and small-group learning support
- Encouraging communication, independence and social interaction
- Assisting with classroom activities and curriculum delivery
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Helping pupils access learning resources and interventions
- Promoting engagement during lessons and enrichment activities
- Assisting with personal care where required
- Supporting lunchtime, transitions and community-based learning opportunities
- Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress reviews
- Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including education, childcare, youth work, care, support work and psychology graduates.
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or young people
- A genuine interest in SEND education
- Patience, empathy and adaptability
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Previous experience supporting individuals with additional learning needs would be highly advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
