  • WHAT: SEN teaching assistant in secondary school

  • WHEN: Begin after Easter holidays

The head teacher of a large secondary school in Cwmbran is looking to appoint a full time specialist Special Educational Needs teaching assistant. The perfect candidate will have experience working with SEN children, more specifically ASD, BESD, EBD, PMLD, SLCN. Personal experience of SEN will also be considered. Patience, empathy and an understanding nature is essential.

The school is located to the west of Cwmbran, just off the A4042 and close to good transport links. They pride themselves on being a warm and friendly school which provides a good learning environment and an abundance of extra curriculum activities. Pupil well being is at the heart of everything the school does, meaning a good environment to be a part of.

This role will be working in small classrooms in small groups and 1:1 to guide and help the students to focus and fulfil their highest potential. The candidate will need to build a rapport and trust with the student so they are confident and able to complete their work.

This position is paid between £57 and £60 per day. It is originally a temporary contract but there is potential for a permanent position. Interviews will be held ASAP to fill this position so apply today.
