Job description

1:1 SEN Primary Teaching Assistant – KS1 (Christchurch)

Long-term role | Training available

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Christchurch is seeking a caring, patient and consistent 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with communication and social needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo, providing tailored support to help the pupil remain engaged, develop confidence, regulate emotions and follow daily routines within the classroom.

Ideal for:

  • Teaching Assistants

  • Nursery Nurses / Early Years Practitioners

  • SEN Support Workers

  • Candidates with experience supporting KS1 pupils

What the school is looking for:

  • Reliability and consistency — building trust is essential

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs

  • Availability to commit to at least 3 days per week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
