SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch (Dorset)
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full Time | Long-Term

I am currently supporting a number of my lovely mainstream primary schools across the Dorset area who are looking for a kind, committed and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their teams from February 2026. These schools all have welcoming atmospheres and are seeking someone who is genuinely passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, working closely with teachers, and making a positive impact on a child’s school experience.

What the role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 basis or within small groups

  • Helping children access their learning and grow in confidence

  • Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs to follow individual support plans

  • Encouraging independence, positive routines and emotional regulation

  • Providing calm, consistent support throughout the school day

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is warm, patient and genuinely enjoys working with children

  • Has experience working with SEN (school-based or similar setting)

  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Is adaptable and able to work across different classrooms and settings

  • Can commit to full-time work from January 2026

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
