Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support

Location: Burnley Mainstream Primary School

Salary: £12.82 - £15 per hour

Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant, providing 1:1 support to pupils? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in a Burnley mainstream school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with the pupil, parents, and school staff.
  • Observe and record progress, contributing to assessment and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, specifically in supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN practices and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow guidance from the classroom teacher.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Experience with SEN-specific training or qualifications is an advantage.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: £12.82 - £15.
