Sports Background Teaching Assistant
Locations: Bristol, Bath & Gloucestershire
Key Stages: 1–4
Pay: £89–£100 per day

Teaching Personnel is thrilled to be recruiting the next wave of enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year!

We’re on the lookout for energetic, empathetic, and dedicated individuals who can support students with special educational needs (SEN) — including those with mental health conditions, communication or learning difficulties, emotional or behavioural challenges, and physical disabilities.

Whether you’re already working in education or moving from a sports coaching background, this is your chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people aged 5–16. ‍


What the Role Involves:

Supporting students with SEN — both 1:1 and in small groups
Working closely with teachers & support staff to boost learning and well-being
❤️ Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and confident
Assisting with classwork, activities & personalised learning interventions
Encouraging teamwork, confidence & resilience through sport-inspired learning


What We’re Looking For:

A passion for helping young people grow and achieve their best
️ Strong communication & behaviour management skills
‍♂️ A sports coaching background – ideal, but not essential!
Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (personal or professional) is a bonus
Previous school experience is welcomed, but enthusiasm and energy matter most!

Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary by school)
Days: Monday–Friday, term time only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
