Postgraduate Teaching Assistant Opportunity
Locations: Bristol, Bath & Gloucestershire
Start Date: September 2025

Pay: £89–£100 per day

Teaching Personnel is now recruiting enthusiastic graduates for teaching assistant roles starting in the 2025/2026 academic year. You'll be working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), which may include mental health difficulties, physical disabilities, or emotional and behavioural challenges. Compassion, patience, and empathy are essential qualities for this role. You’ll be supporting children and young people aged 5 to 16 and helping shape their educational journey.
Position Overview:

Typical hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary by school)

Monday to Friday, term-time only

Potential to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate
Your Responsibilities:
-
Provide support to students with SEN, either one-to-one or in small groups
-
Collaborate with other support staff to enhance classroom learning
-
Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons that keep students focused and involved
-
Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
-
Build positive, supportive relationships with students
-
Aid with classroom tasks and learning activities as needed
Who We’re Looking For:

Previous experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (in any context) is highly valued
-
A sincere interest in education—whether continuing your path or starting something new
-
Confident communication and behaviour management skills
-
Educational experience is a plus, but not required—your attitude and commitment matter most

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
