SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunities
Locations: Bath, Bristol, Gloucestershire
Start Date: September 2025
Key Stages: 1–4
Daily Rate: £89–£100

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These students may face a range of challenges, including mental health difficulties, physical disabilities, or emotional and behavioural needs. A compassionate and empathetic approach is essential for success in this role.

You’ll be supporting students aged 5 to 16, playing a vital role in their educational journey and personal development.


Role Overview

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Locations: Bath, Bristol, and Gloucestershire

  • Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm (subject to slight variation by school)

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, term-time only

  • Progression: Opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidates


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, either one-on-one or in small groups

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver effective learning interventions

  • Support the delivery of a curriculum adapted to meet individual needs

  • Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Build trusting, supportive relationships to foster confidence and emotional security

  • Offer practical, hands-on help with classwork and learning activities


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with SEN or managing challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)

  • A genuine passion for education and helping young people thrive

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Adaptability, patience, and a student-centred approach
