Location: Brighton
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Duration: Starting Feb 2021 till July 2021 at a minimum
Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Fridays during school term time
Pay rate: GBP60 – GBP75 per day (paid on a weekly basis – negotiable dependant on experience and references)
Teaching Personnel are seeking medically trained or experienced staff to work as special needs teaching assistants for a Special Need School in Brighton.
The role will involve administering medication, specialist feeding, personal care and moving and handling support of children aged between 6-11 years old. We are encouraging applicants with the following training or experience:
• SEN Teaching Assistant
• Health Care Assistant
• Paediatric Care
• Nursing
• Makaton, PECS, TEACCH and/or sensory resources
• Moving and Handling
• Support Workers
• Early Years
• SEN Play Worker
The school has two departments for children with autism, severe learning difficulties and medical needs. The successful applicant will need to be confident working across both departments in classrooms supporting children with their learning and care. This is a great role for those with medical backgrounds who are interesting in working in special education as the school provide on-going training.
You will have the following:
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience (stated above)
• Confidence supporting children with special needs 1:1
• Full-time availability
• A valid child DBS Certificate on the online update service (we can assist with your application)
• Residence in Sussex and access to a car
