Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bridgwater from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and engaged in learning.

Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and personalised strategies.

Help pupils develop social and emotional skills alongside academic progress.

Adapt classroom materials and provide differentiated support where needed.

Monitor progress and contribute to regular feedback and reviews.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable.

A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour and learning support.

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with diverse needs.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
