Make a difference this September – support pupils with special educational needs in Bridgwater!

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bridgwater from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and engaged in learning.

  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and personalised strategies.

  • Help pupils develop social and emotional skills alongside academic progress.

  • Adapt classroom materials and provide differentiated support where needed.

  • Monitor progress and contribute to regular feedback and reviews.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is highly desirable.

  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour and learning support.

  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with diverse needs.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
