Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Taunton, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis with a range of additional needs (including autism, ADHD, and SEMH).

  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.

  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Encouraging independence and social development.

  • Monitoring progress and reporting to staff and parents/carers.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.

  • A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
