SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work closely with schools in the South East area. We are currently recruiting for an SEN teaching assistant who has experience working with children or adults with Autism.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with Autism
- Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies
- Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
The Role:
You will be working in a state of the arts SEN school based in Basingstoke in small classes alongside other experienced SEN TA's and a specialist ASD Teacher. For this position you will ideally need experience working with young people on the Autism spectrum in a school or care setting, however this is not essential.
- Motivating and encouraging the pupil as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils' needs
- Liaising with class teacher, SENCO and other professionals about individual education plans (IEPs), contributing to the planning and delivery as appropriate
- Ensuring the pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided
If you are applying for this role, there are a few things we require from you. You must have:
- References from your two most recent employers.
- A full driving Licence as transport is limited.
- A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one at a cost of GBP40 for the DBS and GBP13 for the Update Service.
- Experience working with children in a capacity including Youth Worker, Schools, Coaching or Nursing
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills; written and verbal
Candidates are required to work full time 8.30am-15:30/16.30pm depending on training days.
