SEN Teacher
Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation supporting the delivery of education to young people with special needs near Blandford Forum, Dorset.
The school supports young people between the ages of 7-19 with Autism and associated difficulties to gain important life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their journey towards independence.
We are looking to recruit a committed, empathetic and passionate Teacher that will deliver educational sessions and be a model of positive behaviour support to empower our young people to make a positive change in their lives.
Areas of responsibility:
- Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed for each individual student;
- Providing clear structures for learning to maintain pace, motivation and challenge;
- Mark and monitor students' work and set targets for progress.
- Directing support staff helping in your class
Applicants must have:
- The ability to teach effectively using a variety of strategies;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both children and adults;
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum;
- Have high aspirations and expectations for their students;
- The ability to differentiate lesson plans and adapt lessons as you go;
- A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed by public transport
- Strong behaviour management skills
Candidates must hold Qualified Teacher Status qualification.
We are looking for Teachers who can start ASAP. Permanent opportunities are available for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
