Offering an alternative to mainstream education and surrounded by 28 acres of land for play and relaxation in Dorset, this SEN school offers facilities that include a theatre, sports hall, riding arenas, climbing wall and swimming pool. Focused on supporting students aged 7-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD/ASC), their multi-disciplinary teams ensure that every young person benefits from individually tailored support and a home away from home.

About the role:

  • You will be responsible for a class of 4-6 pupils and there will be TAs/LSAs to support you and the children
  • Working with young people between the ages of 7-19
  • The needs of the pupils within the provisions vary from Autism and complex learning needs to challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • The work pattern will be Monday – Friday (08:30-17:00 on Mondays, 08:30 – 16:15 Tuesday – Friday)

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be empathetic, patient and attentive
  • Be able to differentiate lesson plans to suit all students individual needs and adapt lessons when necessary
  • Have QTS, we welcome applications from newly qualified teachers/early career teachers
  • A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with both pupils and parents

We are able to consider teachers who can start ASAP or in September 2024.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
