SEN Tutor – Basford, Nottinghamshire
£25–£30 per hour | Flexible hours | 1:1 and small-group tuition
TP Tutors is recruiting patient, adaptable, and dedicated SEN Tutors to deliver tailored tuition for learners in Basford and the wider Nottinghamshire area. This rewarding role gives you the chance to make a real impact, supporting students with a variety of additional needs to achieve their goals.
About the Role
You will provide personalised one-to-one and small-group tuition in learners’ homes, schools, or community venues. Sessions may focus on core subjects such as English, maths, or functional skills, while also helping students to build confidence, develop strategies for learning, and re-engage with education.
Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality tuition adapted for learners with SEND/SEMH needs

Create a nurturing, supportive learning environment

Break down challenging topics into manageable steps

Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback

Comply with safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
-
Qualified teacher status (QTS/QTLS) or relevant SEN tutoring experience
-
Strong understanding of SEND and strategies to support learners
-
Experience working with SEMH needs is desirable
-
Excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Patient, empathetic, and resilient teaching style
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Up-to-date safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
