An SEN primary school in Manchester is looking for a teacher to take on a long-term full-time position with the possibility of a permanent position being offered. The role itself is with KS2 students that have complex and challenging needs and are working at a lower level than other children of their age.

Due to the complexity of the needs of the children, you would need to have experience with children with additional needs and would need to be comfortable to lead a group who may be slightly more challenging.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Planning fun and engaging lessons for young children to aid their development and progression
  • Individualise work depending on different additional needs of children
  • Lead a team of support staff within the room to create a safe learning environment
  • Provide feedback to other members of staff, parents and carers about children’s progression within school

As this is a teaching role, you should also have a primary teaching qualification and be able to provide us with references from previous school experience. You should be able to give examples of times that you have taught individuals with additional needs successfully, whether this is in a specialist environment or in a mainstream school with a mixed class.

The school itself has a team of experienced staff that are there to create a positive environment for young children with additional needs.
