Frome | Full-Time | September 2026 Start

Transform Lives Through Specialist Teaching

Teaching Personnel is working with a specialist educational setting in Frome to recruit an experienced SEN Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher who is committed to helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning. Every pupil follows an individual educational journey, and you'll play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that build confidence, independence and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner who is ready to hit the ground running from the beginning of the academic year. The successful applicant will be comfortable adapting lessons, responding to individual needs and working as part of a multidisciplinary team within a specialist education environment.

 

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you'll plan and deliver a broad, engaging curriculum that enables every learner to achieve their personal best while supporting their emotional, social and academic development.

  • Delivering creative and highly differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
  • Teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, moderate learning difficulties and complex needs.
  • Creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom where pupils feel safe and supported.
  • Developing personalised learning strategies that encourage engagement and progress.
  • Monitoring attainment, recording progress and adapting planning in response to assessment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and pastoral colleagues.
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and multi-professional meetings where required.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and resilience through consistent routines and strong relationships.
  • Ensuring safeguarding remains central to all aspects of your practice.

 

About You

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have recent experience teaching within SEND or specialist education.
  • Be confident working with pupils who require personalised approaches to learning.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Be committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education.
  • Be able to make an immediate contribution from September 2026.
