Teaching Personnel is recruiting an experienced Key Stage 1 SEN Teacher for a full-time position within a specialist educational setting in Yeovil, starting in September 2026.

About the Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils with Special Educational Needs, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning needs while creating a positive, structured classroom environment.
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, communication needs and learning difficulties.
- Developing personalised learning strategies to maximise progress.
- Working closely with teaching assistants to deliver high-quality provision.
- Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate pupil records.
- Contributing to EHCP targets and annual reviews where appropriate.
- Building positive relationships with families and external professionals.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing alongside academic achievement.
- Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
We're Looking For
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have recent experience teaching within SEND or specialist education.
- Are confident teaching Key Stage 1 pupils with additional needs.
- Can quickly establish routines and positive relationships.
- Have excellent classroom management skills.
- Are committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.
- Are ready to hit the ground running from September 2026.
Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs, autism, speech and language needs, SEMH or complex learning needs would be highly advantageous.
