Job description

Please find the enclosed job specification for a School looking to appoint a Reception Practitioner after the Easter holidays.
The school is a warm and welcoming place to work, where the children who attend make 'Outstanding' progress from Reception to Year 6 in all subject and social areas. The Head teacher in school is also an 'Outstanding' practitioner who uses her skills and experiences to support other schools working in the same cluster. She has years of experience and is well known in the local areas for the way she 'knows every child in her school' and how she 'looks after her staff'. The Senior Leadership Team in school is always supportive and welcoming in the work they do, this ensures all staff feel as though they are part of the team, even temporary staff members. The most recent Ofsted inspection deemed all areas of School to be 'Outstanding'.
The role is a unique opportunity to work in the Reception class in this 'Outstanding' Primary School. The successful applicant will be expected to work from 830-1530 with ½ welfare cover. You will be responsible for the support of an individual child with varying special educational needs. Primarily, the child in question requires language and communication support and some behaviour support. It is common for the child to become upset and can be aggressive when she doesn't stay in her routine. It is therefore important that the applying candidate has experience working alongside children with ASC and be able to support the child with a range of behaviour management techniques and learning opportunities.
The process to apply for the role is simple; however the application is completed through Teaching Personnel. To start you will need to send over an up to date CV with relevant experiences as specified above. You must hold a Level 2 Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent. It is also beneficial to support your CV with a cover email/letter, also to specify recent experiences and your most recent referees. You will be subject to a face to face interview and a DBS check. Your references will need to be graded GOOD or OUTSTANDING in order to join Teaching Personnel. The Head teacher would then like to meet any applying candidates to interview and trial out in her School.
A number of Teaching Assistants have already taken up positions with this School and are now in the process of being taken onto a full School contract. Working initially on supply is a really good way to expose yourself to the school and this MAY lead to further work and possible contracted work. DO NOT MISS THE CHANCE TO WORK IN AN OUTSTANDING SCHOOL.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
