Behaviour / Pastoral Support Officer – Secondary School


Location: Worcester (WR11)
Contract Type: Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)

A secondary school in Worcestshire is seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Behaviour / Pastoral Support Officer to join their pastoral team on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a key role within the school, supporting student behaviour, attendance and wellbeing across a mainstream secondary setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in helping students engage positively with learning and school life.

The Role:
• Support students with behaviour, attendance and pastoral needs across the school
• Work closely with Heads of Year and the wider pastoral team
• Provide in-class and out-of-class behavioural support
• Help implement whole-school behaviour policies and interventions
• Support students in developing positive attitudes to learning
• Build strong, professional relationships with students to encourage engagement
• Liaise with teaching staff, parents and external agencies where appropriate

We Are Looking For:
• Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring or similar environment
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• A calm, consistent and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
