Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
Location: Northamptonshire
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-Time / Temporary (with potential to go long-term)


A caring and inclusive primary school in Northamptonshire is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs starting as soon as possible.

This is a full-time role, ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or learning delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs)

  • Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour

  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for learning

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant TA or SEN qualifications are desirable

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
