SEN Support
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a lovely Special Needs school in the Portsmouth area, who are recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants to start work in September to support their pupils needs.
Pupils at the school go up to the age of 18 years old, with a varied scope of needs to include Autism, moderate to severe and profound learning difficulties, Speech and Language, and physical difficulties. There are also some non-verbal pupils in attendance, so experience with Sign Language, Makaton and/or PEC's would be beneficial.
You will get on well at the school if you are a positive, passionate and nurturing individual. The ability to work independently and use your own initiative is essential, as is a flexibility to support different ages and needs. Any experience as a Support Worker or in a healthcare environment will be an added bonus, due to the element of care within the school.
The school and its staff are dedicated to providing quality support and assistance to its pupils, and therefore a keen interest in SEN will be required.
If this sounds like a role that is suited to you, I would love to hear from you. Get in touch with me by sending your CV and a cover letter , or give me a call on 02380 836648 for more information!
