SEN Learning Support Assistant - Southampton, Hampshire

Do you have the resilience and patience to work and support students with SEN?

If yes, then this is definitely a role for you.

Supporting pupils with special needs is a rewarding career in which you guide, support and comfort students who may find everyday tasks challenging. We are looking for a teaching assistant to work in a specialist Primary school located in Southampton, Hampshire. You will be assisting pupils with mild learning difficulties (SLD),and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

If you have previously worked as a nursery nurse or support worker and would like to use you skills in a specialist school then this will be ideal for you.

Your responsibilities will include:

*Assist students during class making sure they are on track.

*Liaise with class teacher to ensure a smooth running class.

*Enabling learners to access the curriculum.

*Support the pastoral needs of the learners.

*Assist with personal care.

*Be an active part in setting the learning environment.

*Supporting learners on a 1:1 base and part of a small group in a range of activities through out the day

*Using your interests to engage learners in learning.

The ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:

*Be able to work with learners that have various learning difficulties.

*Have an understanding of the students' needs

*Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.

*Be confident to support the lead in groups, in different educational subjects.

*The ability to work as an individual and as a part of the team.

*Be flexible in their approach to education.
