SEN Learning Support Assistant to support Maths

Start: January 2021

Salary: GBP10-GBP15ph

The North Hampshire based school are seeking an SEN learning support assistant, specialising in Maths, to provide support for pupils with special educational needs such as Dyscalculia, to commence in January 2021.  Ideally the successful support assistant will have a minimum GCSE grade C or above in Maths, and a University Degree would be desirable but not essential. The positive school environment is echoed through parent feedback to Ofsted, where the teachers have been described as ‘caring, committed and compassionate’ as well as inspiring and supportive to pupils. 

As a successful SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Have a minimum GCSE grade C in Maths and have a good understanding of Secondary level Maths. 
  • A University Degree would be desirable but not essential to the role
  • Have experience of working with students with special educational needs such as Dyslexia
  • Provide 1:1 and group intervention support for Maths, including catch up support lessons for students in year 7
  • Provide learning assistant support within a classroom including tutor time intervention for Numeracy skills
  • Provide Dyscalculia recognition and support
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately to pupils with different abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
