Teaching Assistant - Oldham

  • Are you experienced in working within a school environment?
  • Short term or Long term positions
  • Rate of pay up to ÂŁ60 per day based on experience.

My client is a Specialist SEN school that is based in Oldham (Greater Manchester); they are looking for teaching assistants for short or long term positions.

The teaching assistant role will be working with children that have various conditions that are aged between the years of 2-11. The pupils suffer from numerous physical, academic, social and emotional difficulties. A large number of the pupils suffer from Autistic spectrum condition, which requires the school to have work in small class rooms with a number of experienced staff, and have numerous sensory rooms.



To apply for these positions, you must possess a calm and caring nature and have the ability to deal with challenging behaviour. Qualifications and training such as Team-Teach, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant awards, Moving & Handling etc are all highly desirable. Experience of using PECS, Makaton and/or Signalong would also be beneficial.



You will be required to work with pupils from various backgrounds and different needs, including pupils with English as a second language and pupils that may have specific needs and requirements.
