Intervention specialist required from January in Preston

If so, I am working on behalf of a secondary school in Preston who are seeking an Intervention specialist to support some of their targeted students. The role is 4 days a week, Mon - Thurs and the working hours will be 8am - 3pm. The role will involve supporting the students with all lessons across the curriculum, in particular the core subjects from KS3-4. The successful candidate will be required to have general curriculum knowledge but, ideally, a specialism in a particular core subject.

A teaching qualification (PGCE, FE PGCE, QTS, QTLS) is desirable, however this is not essential. It is essential that you have prior experience supporting lower ability pupils either on a 1:1 or small group basis within an educational environment. The school are seeking someone who is able to use their own initiative and develop a quick/strong rapport with students.

This is a long term opportunity and you will be required until the end of the academic year, at least, to cover a maternity leave within the school. Whether you will be required beyond this point, is not yet known.
