Are you someone who thrives when helping others? Do you have a natural ability to connect with children who need extra support? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a nurturing SEN/PRU Primary School in Somerset as a Teaching Assistant.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be supporting children aged 4–19 years old with a variety of special educational needs and behavioural challenges. These pupils may have conditions such as ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties. Your role will be to help them feel safe, understood, and empowered to learn.

 

Your Day-to-Day Might Include:

  • Working 1:1 with pupils to build trust and engagement
  • Supporting classroom activities and adapting materials to suit individual needs
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour
  • Collaborating with teachers and therapists to create personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging positive social interactions and communication

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with SEMH or mental health support (formal or informal)
  • A calm, caring, and resilient personality
  • Good understanding of behaviour support strategies
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally
