About the Role
Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a range of schools across Pembrokeshire, recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN / ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people, supporting them both academically and emotionally.
You will support learners with a range of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD)
- Physical and/or sensory needs
Opportunities are available in both mainstream schools and specialist provisions, working either 1:1 or with small groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN to help them access learning and reach their full potential
- Follow and implement strategies from Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Assist with personal care where required (full training provided)

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and can bring patience, adaptability, and empathy to the role.
✔ Experience working with children or young people with SEN / ALN (desirable)
✔ Calm, nurturing, and resilient approach
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Ability to adapt to different school settings and needs
✔ Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
✔ Welsh language skills are advantageous but not required

- Care or support work

- Psychology or education graduates
- Individuals with personal or voluntary SEN experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
