We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join our friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Burnley, starting from September 2025.

Role Overview:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils who have additional learning needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo

• Support learning activities in the classroom and during intervention sessions

• Assist in the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress

• Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment

• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals as needed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEN (particularly autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs)

• A patient, positive and flexible approach to supporting learning

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA qualification) – desirable but not essential

Working Hours:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday

• Term-time only (38 weeks per year)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
