Job description

Are you an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced HLTA Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career?

At our school, we are looking for an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our committed team and support our vibrant learning community. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in helping children thrive and reach their full potential. This role requires you to cover PPA and Leadership time across school, so you will be teaching children from EYFS -KS2.

Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School
Location: Burnley

Hours: Full-time 9.30am – 4pm
Salary: £14.50 - £15 per hour
Start Date: Monday 1st September

About the Role:

As an HLTA, you will:

-          Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under the direction of the class teacher

-          Provide cover for classes across the school when required

-          Support pupils individually, in small groups, and whole-class settings

-          Assist with assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil progress

-          Work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and parents/carers to support pupil development

-          Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

-          Holds HLTA status or equivalent qualification

-          Has proven experience working within a primary school setting

-          Is confident in managing whole-class learning and behaviour

-          Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-          Is proactive, flexible, and passionate about children's learning

-          Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
