Full time Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) experienced Teaching Assistants required for a Salford based Secondary school, long term; required from September 2018 - 2019.

Teaching Personnel client school based in West Salford, Greater Manchester are looking to appoint four SEMH Teaching Assistants, to work in their school's support department ahead of the new academic year September 2018 - 2019.

If you have experience working with SEMH, supporting young people who have severe difficulties managing their emotions and behaviour, then this SEMH Teaching Assistant role will be ideal for you.

  • Full time SEMH Teaching Assistant role, Salford based Secondary school. September 2018.
  • Experience supporting or working with SEMH is essential and any additional experience supporting young people with SEMH will be highly beneficial.
  • Opportunity to work in a diverse Secondary school with modern resources within state of the art facilities, alongside free on site parking for all staff.
  • Earn up to £65 per day.

This diverse Secondary school based in West Salford, Greater Manchester has just over 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16, with a high rate of pupils premium and Special Educational Needs. The Secondary school provide on going SEN training to all their staff and you can expect to be supported through this. The incoming SEMH Teaching Assistants will be joining a strong dedicated support department; noted for their commitment to the development of all pupils.

SEMH Teaching Assistants

  • Experience working with SEMH and or Special Educational Needs at a teaching and or learning capacity is essential to be considered for this role, due to the sensitive nature of the pupils you will be supporting.
  • De-escalate, engage and support pupils with SEMH difficulties which can include but not be limited to; disruptive behaviour, Anxiety, withdrawn and depressive attitudes.
  • Work alongside SENCO to support identified pupils suffering from SEMH in accordance to Social Emotional and Mental Health policies.
  • Experience of working with SEMH pupils and the ability to defuse and de-escalate their behaviour.
  • Resilient, empathetic and pupil centred approach and the ability to work under high pressure situations.

Ideally located to be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Manchester, there are also public transport options with links throughout Salford and Greater Manchester.
