Nurture Group Teaching Assistant

Can you nurture children who lack appropriate support and structure at home? Can you help nurture childrens development?

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can help support and nurture new children starting school. This is a full time role which has the potential to turn into a long term role.

Role:

Provide support in the classroom under the direction of the Teacher in charge/Senco. This may include:

Encouraging language development.

Supporting the development of skills.

Supporting all aspects of learning.

Supporting the emotional development of children.

Undertaking practical activities e.g. baking, play, art.

Supporting with reading, writing and other aspects of the learning process.

Carrying out tasks planned, prepared and monitored by the Teacher in charge/SENCO.

Encourage appropriate social behaviour, both in and out of school and cater for the general welfare of children.

Supervise and assist the children when coming to and from the Nurture Group.

Assist with personal needs e.g. toileting and hygiene.

Provide help with dressing, encouraging the child to develop independence.

Accompany children on educational visits under the direction of the Teacher in charge.

Make, devise and maintain equipment as required, ensuring that the classroom is kept in a clean and tidy condition.

Act as a confidante to the children whilst being aware of current child protection guidelines.
