About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the Dibden area. This is a great opportunity to support young people aged 11-16 in a specialised SEMH setting.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery and individual learning plans.

• Assisting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties to access the curriculum.

• Helping manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive strategies.

• Providing one-to-one or small group support to promote social skills and emotional wellbeing.

• Supporting students to develop independence and coping strategies within the school environment.

• Assisting with classroom organisation and preparing resources as needed.

• Maintaining a calm, patient, and empathetic approach when working with students with SEMH needs.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs preferred.

• Patience, resilience, and strong communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
