Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is working with SEMH schools in the Eastleigh area that are seeking compassionate, reliable, and flexible Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
This is a term-time only position with flexibility to suit your lifestyle, perfect for candidates looking for a work-life balance or returning to work.
What is an SEMH School?
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools support students who face challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, trauma, and behavioural needs. These schools offer small class sizes, a nurturing approach, and personalised learning to help every pupil succeed in both education and personal development.
Responsibilities

Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups inside and outside the classroom

Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and wellbeing

Assist the teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons

Encourage the development of social and life skills

Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive environment

Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
