Challenging behaviour specialist required in Bradford
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEMH behaviour setting based in Bradford. Only 20mintues away from Leeds by car or a bus journey which takes 20 minutes, making the school is easily accessible. The post is to start as soon as possible and you will be required to work during term time until the end of the academic year. The post also has the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff if successful in the role.
The schools work with children who are vulnerable and display very challenging behaviour. The have SEMH needs as well as SEN needs such as Autism. They offer the chance to teach pupils functional skills as well as using art in a lot of the classes. The school is set in lard grounds and is set away from the hustle and bustle of busy roads. You must be able to use your skills across all areas of education, and teach the children to each of their own ability. The school offers the opportunity to take pupils on trips away and days out.
You will need to be resilient and have a holistic approach when working with pupils. You must be proactive in your approach with the children and have a firm but fair approach. You will need to support teachers in helping children overcome barriers to learning, de-escalate challenging behaviour in the school and engage with the pupils.
You will need to be confident and able to build up good, strong and effective relationships with the pupils and staff. You must also be able to travel across both sites.
