ALN Teacher
Job description
Some teaching roles are about delivering lessons. This one is about helping young people believe in themselves.
We're looking for a teacher to support learners with Additional Learning Needs within a specialist setting in a supportive secondary school. The ideal Teacher will have experience working with ALN pupils and, ideally, within a Resource Base environment, although this isn't essential.
We're open to applications from experienced Secondary Teachers, but we'd also love to hear from strong Primary Teachers who have the right approach, adaptability, and passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
This role is initially for one month, with the possibility of continuing beyond this for the right person.
What matters most?
We're looking for someone who understands that progress isn't always measured in grades. Sometimes it's a student contributing in class for the first time, building confidence, regulating their emotions, or developing the skills they need to thrive in school.
You'll be patient, resilient, and genuinely invested in helping young people succeed. Someone who can build trust, create a calm and engaging learning environment, and celebrate the small wins that often become the biggest achievements.
The role:
- Teaching and supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs
- Working closely with support staff and wider school teams
- Delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Have experience supporting pupils with ALN
- Have worked in a Resource Base or specialist provision (desirable)
- Can adapt your teaching to meet a range of needs
- Build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference from day one.
