Are you passionate about making a differnece to young peoples lives?
We are looking for teaching assistants who love working with children. You will be supporting SEMH Pupils who are secondary aged. The pupils have been excluded from mainstream education and display challenging behaviours. This is a full time position with the opportunity to be a permanent position for the right person.
You will have the opportunity to complete the following CPD before starting:
- Mental Wellbeing in Children and Young People
- Managing Classroom Behaviour
- Mindfulness
- Promoting Positive Behaviour
- Safeguarding
- Prevent Duty
- Female Genital Mutilation
You will need to be:
- Fun and creative
- Happy to get involved in creative subjects such as arts and PE
- An excellent communicator
- Someone who can think outside of the box
- Have a resilient personality
Responsibilities of the role involve:
- Supporting Secondary aged pupils who have social emotional and mental health needs and sometimes also have special educational needs
- Helping pupils catch up with their education, many pupils have missed alot of school in the past
- Supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis where necessary
- Creating a positive environment for children and staff
- Managing challenging behaviours of pupils
- Working alongside other staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
Ideally you will have experience supporting children or adults with SEN or Mental Health Needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
