Secondary Tutor – DE4 Matlock | Flexible In-Person Tuition Opportunity

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated Secondary Tutor to support students in the DE4 Matlock area. This is a rewarding opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis with learners who require additional academic support to help them achieve their full potential.


Location & Working Pattern

  • DE4, Matlock
  • In-person tuition (home, school, or community settings)
  • Flexible daytime hours (Monday to Friday, school hours)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions at secondary level
  • Support students in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Build confidence, engagement, and academic progress
  • Support learners who may have SEN/SEMH needs or be out of mainstream education

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience tutoring or teaching secondary-aged students
  • Strong subject knowledge in core curriculum areas
  • Experience supporting SEN learners (desirable)
  • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
