A Special School situated in Oldham are currently looking to recruit a Secondary Teacher of Science (all disciplines). This is a full time role (Monday - Friday) commencing straight after Christmas and will initially involve working until the end of the academic year.
The Setting is an outstanding Multi Academy Trust which runs across 4 sites all of which are located in Oldham. Sites cater for pupils between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The role will involve planning and delivering lessons that are designed to support the development of pupils with SEN. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in Teachers who have experience of working with pupils with SEN in some capacity. The ideal Teacher will ideally have experience working within a Special School Setting; however this is not essential as long as the Teacher can demonstrate a passion for working with SEN. The main focus of this role is support pupils in reaching their potential in Science. As a Secondary Teacher of Science you role will involve teaching KS3 & KS4 Science at all disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
The ideal Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (essential)
- A Secondary Science specialism and the ability to teach GSCE KS4
- Excellent behaviour management
- The ability to build positive working relationships with pupils, school support staff and parents
