Science Teacher (General science)
January Start, full time
Based in Monmouthshire Secondary School
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Science Teacher to work in a High School in Monmouthshire starting in January 2021. This is a long term position based on a full timetable, initially due to run until the summer, there is a strong possibility of the role extending or being made permanent. Renowned for having an ecellent science department that has the latest tech! This role would be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.
The school itself is based just outside Newport in Monmouthshire with excellent transport links. The Science department are currently seeking a highly skilled teacher to provide an innovative & effective learning experience. The ideal candidate must:
- Be passionate and knowledgeable, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to succeed
- Register with the education workforce council
- Hold an enhanced DBS
- Two recent education references
The successful Science Teacher will be expected to:
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Maintain discipline
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
The school are looking to appoint ASAP and although returning to school interviews will be held via zoom. There will be an opportunity to visit the school and meet the department before starting in January.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
