Graduate Cover Supervisor
Job description
Graduate Cover Supervisor
Northampton, Daventry and surrounding areas
Are you a recent graduate thinking about a career in teaching?
Maybe you're considering a PGCE in the future but want some classroom experience first. Or perhaps you're just looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference while building your confidence and professional skills.
We're currently looking for reliable, confident individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Northamptonshire, particularly in Northampton and Daventry.
This is one of those roles that gives you experience you simply can't get from behind a desk. You'll be in the classroom, working with young people, building relationships with schools, and developing skills that will stand out on any CV.
Many of the graduates we've placed in these roles have gone on to teacher training, while others have discovered a passion for working in education that they didn't know they had.
What does the role involve?
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom when a teacher is absent and supervise lessons using work that has already been set.
You don't need to be an expert in every subject, and no teaching qualification is required.
Schools are looking for people who can confidently lead a classroom, build positive relationships with students and keep lessons running smoothly.
No two days are ever quite the same, which is one of the reasons people enjoy the role so much.
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have recently graduated from university
- Are considering teacher training in the future
- Have experience working with young people through coaching, mentoring, tutoring or youth work
- Are confident speaking in front of groups
- Are reliable and happy to travel to different schools
- Can be available at short notice when opportunities come up
Access to a car is a huge advantage as we work with schools across Northamptonshire and opportunities can often arise quickly.
One thing we often hear from our schools is how much they value enthusiastic graduates. They bring energy, confidence and a fresh perspective to the classroom, which is why many of our Cover Supervisors quickly become regulars in the schools they support.
If you're looking for a role where you'll develop confidence, gain real-world experience and make a positive impact on young people's education, we'd love to hear from you.
